Mini Volkswagon Beetle by Vilac
Perfect car for little hands! written 3 months ago
This car is adorable and perfectly sized and proportioned. It’s also super glossy and an appealing orange color, making it a child-magnet. Because it’s very light, we often take this car out with us while running errands. Other children really seem drawn to it.
Most importantly, this car runs really well on most reasonably smooth surfaces. Slightly rubbery tires grip surface, and the car can really zoom!
My daughter likes it very much.
Animal Counting Game by Vilac
A New Favorite! written 4 months ago
This is another winner from Vilac. It’s got a lot going on – your child can count the stackers and learn the colors, all while working on fine motor skills. My daughter (one year old) has played creatively with this toy, and has grown especially fond of the little frog peg. She actually hugs him and pats him as though he were a doll!
The pieces are bright and smooth, very attractive and simple. I’m pleased with the way my daughter has fallen for this toy, preferring it over flashier and noisier options. I can see her playing with it for a long time, too, as she’s just beginning to tinker with the little numbered bees and flowers.
Ship Squirter by Haba
Won't float upright . . . written 4 months ago
A cute little water toy, but its design won’t allow it (at least won’t allow mine) to actually float as a little boat. The sail is too heavy, so it always floats on the side or upside-down. It does squirt well, I suppose, but it is the least played with of all our Haba bath toys.
At least it’s safe to chew!
Fantasy Blocks by Haba
Whimsical and Beautiful Blocks written 4 months ago
These are the nicest blocks we’ve encountered! Each piece is special in some way, uniquely painted or shaped, beautifully finished. One has a bell embedded in it, another a mirror. The clear blocks are especially fascinating for my daughter.
There aren’t that many of them, so you may want to add these to a larger set of simpler blocks. Really special, gorgeous blocks.
Ball Track Roll 'n roll 'n roll by Haba
Gorgeous toy - loads of fun written 5 months ago
This toy is even nicer than I expected it to be. We borrowed it from a friend enjoyed it so much that we were reluctant to return it!
My one year old was intrigued by it, but I think I needed to play and demonstrate the toy a bit at first. Once she got it, she loved it. She liked putting the ball in the holes directly sometimes, and experimenting with stopping the balls as they rolled. I had thought that this might be something she would find exciting but which would quickly become boring (how many times can you watch a ball roll down a track?) but now I’m not so sure.
I think it’s great for 1-2 year olds, perhaps older as well. Kids find new ways to enjoy toys, especially when they’re nicely constructed and painted. The balls are a nice weight and size for rolling.
Baby Lion Pull Along Toy by Vilac
a darling first pull-toy written 6 months ago
I gave this lion to a friend for her little one. It is really adorable in person, although it is a bit smaller than I expected. I now have the elephant toy in the same size (my daughter loves it).
It’s the perfect size for a child around one year. The colors are vibrant and glossy, it’s well constructed and cheerful, and as with everything Vilac makes, it’s likely to be a keepsake.
Mini 2CV by Vilac
A little gem of a car written 6 months ago
This car is wonderful. The smooth lacquer finish and small size make it perfect for little ones who might be just as likely to put it in mouth as to delight in rolling it. And the wheels, unlike other wooden cars I’ve purchased, are rubbery and turn smoothly, giving it good rolling ability. This is the first toy car my daughter (almost one) has taken to. She likes it so much that I’m going to collect several for her. Kind of pricey, but worth it. I appreciate how well-made and delightfully cute this car is every time we play with it.
